It's time for the 3rd annual Artsy Gift Guide! The response to our first gift guides last year and the year before was overwhelmingly positive, and makes releasing this guide something I look forward to each year. We put this guide together because the mission of Porter Loves Creative is all about supporting artists and empowering them to thrive, largely because that's a core value that we hold personally. Nathan and I specifically try as much as possible to buy gifts from artisans, makers, and other small businesses. Did you know that more than half your money stays in the local economy when you shop local? Plus, you're directly supporting creative workers as opposed to corporate profits. We think that's pretty cool.
Keeping up with our pattern, this gift guide includes individual local artisans, local Pittsburgh events to shop handmade, and local Pittsburgh brick and mortar shops that sell handmade objects year round. It's not comprehensive or exhaustive by any means but it's diverse and fun and we hope you'll show up and support these creative folks! You might just run into us :)
